Who We Are

Pile of Coffee is run by a small team of coffee enthusiasts who got tired of vague buying advice and decided to do something about it.

We are not professional baristas or industry insiders. We are people who genuinely love coffee, have spent years testing machines at home, and learned most of what we know by making mistakes — buying the wrong grinder, burning beans, descaling too late, and eventually figuring out what actually matters.

The team includes a former IT consultant who owns four espresso machines (and counting), a home cook who became obsessed with milk texture after her first LatteGo cappuccino, and a freelance writer who started drinking specialty coffee during lockdown and never looked back.

Between us, we have tested or researched over 60 coffee machines across every category — from budget pod machines to prosumer semi-automatics.
